Is social impact significant for your brand? Some experts say business is business; nonetheless, most people appreciate brands that also do some good in the world. At times that good comes directly from a product, but even brands that create less altruistic products often still have a positive impact. That impact can be critical to consumers, especially young ones. More than half of young people have purchased a brand or product to show support for an issue the brand represented, and 40% have stopped buying because a brand did not align with their values. These stats are based on a report by DoSomething Strategic, the data-driving consultancy arm of DoSomething.org.
